The best of GCR at Coverings 2024
The Coverings 2024 edition held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, in which the Cerdisa Ricchetti Group took part, ended on Thursday, April 25.
Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta
22nd Apr - 25th Apr, 2024
The entire booth was designed as a tribute to Mies van der Rohe's minimalist vision, highlighting the concept that:
"No design is possible until the materials with which you design are completely understood."
GCR transformed its booth into a veritable art gallery, where ceramic surfaces were the absolute stars, similar to paintings displayed in a museum exhibition, offering a completely product-focused experience.
The focus was on the new collections: Pearls by GCR Experiments, Slatestone by Cerdisa and Salentina by Ricchetti.
The six shades in Pearls collection take inspiration from the hues of the sky and the light that shapes it in various contexts. The matte lapped surface, called Honed, deliciously accommodates graphic shapes and transparencies, evoking ethereal spaces of Magrittian memory.
Slatestone embodies the essence of natural slate, with a revolutionary fusion of quartzite. The collection is distinguished by a variety of formats, from the geometric precision of 32x32 cm to the bold 48.1x96.4 cm, all with perfectly ground edges. The innovative Cross surface, thanks to applied nano-granules, makes Slatestone non-slip, soft to the touch and easy to clean, providing a perfect visual continuity between interior and exterior with a single solution.
Salentina draws inspiration from the beauty of traditional Italian Mediterranean stones. Shades and rectified edges, enhanced by irregular chiseling and knocks, give Salentina an incredible realism. The Cross surface allows for both indoor and outdoor use.
Coverings 2024 was also an opportunity to present overseas the successful collections from Cersaie 2023: Archistone 2, Archimarble 2 (completed with two more marble effects) and Wood Design by Cerdisa, Fireclay and Retro Pure by Ricchetti.
Archistone 2 offers a varied selection of stone patterns, each with a distinctive identity that embraces material, color and style. Archimarble 2, meanwhile, features a refined range of marble effects centered on the duality of black and white. Carefully designed finishes, such as the silky Soft and the innovative Honed, give the ceramic an extraordinary versatility. The two new proposals on display at Coverings 2024 feature elegant marble effects declined in shades of white. Wood Design stands out for its American Walnut effect, characterized by fluid graphic movements and details that amplify its naturalness.
Fireclay, on the other hand, recreates a three-dimensional surface that evokes the craftsmanship of terracotta, combining the best technical properties of porcelain stoneware with its practicality. Finally, Retro Pure takes the form of a tribute to sculpture, bringing materials such as ivory, crystal, and plaster to life through shapes, movements, and transparencies that create striking plays of light.
