GCR PROJECT at Casa Platform Venice 2021
The new Division of Gruppo Cerdisa Ricchetti, created to be by the side of designers and concretely provide answers to their daily needs, is the official sponsor of the event
Temi in primo piano:
GCR Project will be a sponsor of Casa Platform Venezia, an international event that will simultaneously present two Architecture exhibitions, on the themes of interior and contemporary residential building.
CASA PLATFORM VENICE
The new division of Gruppo Cerdisa Ricchetti has been created to provide concrete answers to the operational needs of architects, interior designers, builders, contract manufacturers, and all the professional figures involved in the building design and construction process for specific ceramic tile applications.
In a historical moment in which our habits, and our entire daily life with them, are undergoing changes that are as profound as they are rapid, the theme of living, spaces and the well-being of those who live in the building becomes a topic of architectural debate.
rnThe home, and with it the materials that traditionally adorn it, is taking on a new role: no longer a "container of people and objects" but a "habitat" in relation to the world, within which private, sharing and working spaces intersect to become part of the life of its inhabitants.
Ceramics as a garment occupie multiple positions in these new buildings, and become an integral part not only of the design but of everyday living. GCR Project supports and contributes to the ongoing debate, with proposals dedicated to the world of design.
THE THEMES OF THE EVENT
The Casa Platform event in Venice: design, architecture and project world Casa Platform in Venice from 22 May to 22 August 2021 organises an important initiative that merges together the editorial project "Best Design Selection" and the system of values expressed by Casa Platform, a brand synonymous with architectural culture, content creation and networking among the various actors in the world of design.
The location of the event will be the Scuola Grande di Santa Maria della Misericordia in Venice. Located in the Cannaregio district, it is an imposing building located exactly between Ca' d'Oro and San Marcuola, between the former Teatro Italia and Campo Santi Apostoli and offers excellent accessibility for the public on foot from Piazzale Roma (15 min.) from Rialto or from Fondamenta Nuove (10 min.). Completely restored in 2015, today the Misericordia is a monumental space where art, history and culture dialogue with the territory, and is the institutional location of prestigious exhibitions, installations and cultural events. It can accommodate more than 1000 people and is the only one to have the requirements required by recent anti Covid regulations to be able to host events even with a high number of guests simultaneously.
THE THEMATIC EXHIBITIONS
From 22 May to 22 August, within this prestigious location, 2 thematic exhibitions will take place simultaneously, involving a total of 140 architecture studios. The first, titled "Best Italian Interior Design Selection", offers an overview of interior design by Italian authors, without geographical and typological limitation (residential, hospitality, retail, etc). The second, titled "Best International Houses", is an overview of living places worldwide through the selection of 70 projects chosen by a scientific committee, based on applications received from all over the world.
For each of the Exhibitions, a dedicated volume will be published collecting the selected projects that will enrich the "Best Design Selection" collection that Platform has inaugurated and continues since 2018. A General Catalogue of Casa Platform Venezia will also be produced, entirely dedicated to the partner companies of the event and the scheduled cultural initiatives.
The exhibition design, entrusted to the Roman studio SET Architects, is based on the use of only two elements: a modular frame structure in metal and a system of semi-transparent canvases on which the exhibited projects will be printed. The idea is to insert a light and ethereal object inside a historic building with a strong architectural identity like the Scuola Grande di S.Maria della Misericordia in Venice. The height of the installation reflecs that of the base of the imposing columns, creating a direct relationship between the context and the installation, between the heaviness of the stone and the lightness of the structure made with square section metal profiles painted white and fabric canvases. The large number of projects to be exhibited is emphasised by the serial repetition of the module, through a tight rhythm of the elements, which brings the exhibition into an abstract dimension. The installation will be positioned in the centre of the two side aisles, providing for the exhibition of the projects on both fronts and generating a fluid path around them.
In addition to the Exhibitions, the PLATFORM ARCHITECTURE FESTIVAL will take place from 14 to 17 July 2021, a packed schedule of speeches and lectures by the selected studios in the 4-day Exhibitions in which sponsors and the architectural public will be able to participate as an audience. The event will be filmed and broadcast on Platform's digital channels in order to give maximum visibility to all participants, architects and sponsors.
